I affectionately called my grandmother Nan Nan and I can’t tell you how that name came about. It is funny because I do believe that she was the only Nan Nan in the world.
Grandmothers have a different level of love and I know this to be true because I am a grandmother to three handsome young men. Some time ago I wanted to have another child, but God had different plans. I wanted a boy and he sent me three.
I must admit that being a grandmother is much easier since I can send them back home. They always show up to my house soon after it is cleaned. When they walk through the door….I imagine them saying “fresh meat.” In other words,…we are about to tear this place up. But hearing them laugh, run, and jump all over is kind of heart-warming. When my kids would do something wrong, I would find creative ways for a punishment like holding cans. Well my grandsons think holding cans is a joke and have figured out that I am all bark and no bite.
I am and will always be Mum Mum. The woman who will scream and holler to stop running, don’t sit on my bed with your street clothes and even make you hold cans. But I am also the woman who will go far and beyond just to see you smile. I absolutely love being Mum Mum!
