While sitting in the car and waiting for the dryer to stop at the laundromat I noticed a pink unicorn walking down the street. Of course, not literally but I saw someone dressed as a unicorn just casually going about its business.
It was rather amusing to see a pink unicorn just waving and walking up and down the street. This random act of craziness made me laugh and gave me energy boost. While talking to my sister friend on the telephone, we first laughed but quickly started to think this could be a crazy person with a gun. We started to wonder why the person was casually dressed as unicorn. Unfortunately, in the world that we live in today it quickly became a concern.
The person behind the unicorn costume was harmless but my constantly thinking mind made that person a potential threat. But this unicorn was probably just trying to make people smile. The unicorn did not have any signs promoting any of the local businesses and seemed to be committing small acts of kindness.
I am wondering how did we get here? How did we get to a society of constant scrutiny, suspicion, and stereotypes? There are past events that make me think twice and unfortunately get a little skeptical when I see a pink unicorn walking causally down the street. But everyone is not out to harm or hurt you and once you weed through the skepticism, you can eventually allow yourself to accept the random act of kindness.
This entry fits perfect with my tag line…….Nothing is normal!😊
We need more "pink unicorns"!
