Waking up from a bad dream can lead to all kinds of emotions. I find myself always trying to analyze those dreams and understand the meaning. I woke up from a horrible dream yesterday, but I wanted to go back to sleep just to rescue my daughter. But as I am writing this entry, I realize that I was trying to save my daughter from going in her own direction.
I have thought about this dream all day, then it hit me. In this dream as I went in one direction, she ran the opposite way. I then understood that we do not have the same path in life. I often want my children to go down the path that I believe is best. However, they need to choose their own destination.
You want to protect children and keep them safe, but that could cause more harm than good and even resentment. This dream had me shook and almost in tears because I thought I lost her. Fortunately, it was just a dream with a powerful lesson! I can lose my children if I do not allow them to explore their own path in life. It is hard to step back but I have faith in the foundation that was laid. Yes, they may stray here and there but as Proverbs 22:6 states “Train up a child in the way they should go and when they grow old they will not depart from it.”
Basically, I have become Siri, Wikipedia, Google, Uber and Mrs. Buffet. Now I provide assistance when requested which is pretty much all the time!
